Shopping on eBay, Amazon, etc.

One year ago - 29 views
Shopping on eBay, Amazon, etc.
So I know most of us have shopped online on websites such as eBay, Amazon, Etsy, you name it.
Most of us have shopped on Amazon at least.
And if you aren’t an avid eBay-er, don’t worry, I only recently lost my eBay virginity although I’ve had an account for a while.
FYI, I bought a gorgeous pair of black and leopard print creepers for only $40.
Anyway, onto the tip at hand.

First we need to search for our item. For example, I typed in “creepers”. If you want to be more specific you could type in “tuk creepers size 6 usa” or something.

I wouldn’t recommend searching for a category of items such as “grunge”, “kawaii”, “preppy”, etc. That usually won’t yield results, since people just type things like “GRUNGE KAWAII TSHIRT SIZE 6 TUMBLR” or “PREPPY SHIRT RALPH LAUREN AEROPOSTALE” to attract people to their items, and so they’ll pop up in the search bar.

You can also refine your search, enter a price limit, type in your maximum price, and so on.

So you’ve searched for an item and finally found that gorgeous - insert item here – you’ve been lusting after. It looks great!
Well there are a few things to look at first.

First of all, you absolutely need to check shipping prices.
We’ve all seen a beautiful item for only $0.01, $1, or $5, only to check the shipping and find it was a ridiculous sum of money.

Of course, take a look at the details of the item. You want to see the size, maybe the measurements, the condition of the item, and make sure to look at conversion charts for foreign sizes. Also, check out the location of the item and see how long it will take to arrive. If you need shoes by tomorrow and your item is in Korea and won’t ship for another 25 business days, maybe you should just hit your local Payless.

If the price + shipping is decent for that item, (a $50 t-shirt is a little ridiculous, and $5 sneakers seem a bit fishy) then proceed to look at the user.
Check out their reviews. If a user has a 100% review rate, definitely look at the actual reviews. Make sure they seem sincere and there aren’t multiple comments saying the exact same thing. Even if there are, there are probably going to be some ACTUAL reviews on there, so look at those.

So now you’re ready to pay! On Amazon and Etsy you can just use your credit card to order. You will have to make an account. Amazon also gives you the option of using a gift card, so asking for those for Christmas or Hannukkah or Kwanzaa or your birthday or whatever you celebrate is a pretty smart idea imo.

On eBay, the system is a little different. A lot of items can only be purchased using a PayPal account. I wish I knew more specifics about that, but my dad already had a PayPal account, which I used to order my shoes. I would highly recommend making a PayPal account since it’ll enhance your eBay experience and give more options to you.

Smh I sound like a f*cking infomercial.

On eBay I’d also not recommend bidding since it can get crazy and you don’t know for sure if you’ll get the item. It really CAN get crazy, and people will end up bidding excessive prices to guarantee they’ll be able to purchase the item. So if you really want something, go ahead and bid if it’s the only option. However, I’d just click the Buy It Now button, and there’s no hassle and anxious waiting involved. Except for waiting for it to ship.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got! Good luck online shopping! And be sure to review your sender to help others out.

tip #11 ; top free apps (:
"forever's gonna slow you down. you'll never see me again, no matter what you do."
- cry for you ; september ♥

i have an iphone 4, & almost all of my apps are FREE ; so i'm gonna share the best ones with youu (: ♥
there will probably be a lot :p
♥ = all time favorite!

MUSIC;
iheartradio - you enter an artist or song, & it will play similar songs & other songs by that artist; just like pandora, except you don't have to make an account.

shazam - you can identify any song that you don't know the title/artist of (: as long as the song is playing!

musicovery - choose which mood you're in, & it will construct a playlist for you!

♥ jango - this is my FAVORiTE online radio app, b/c while it's just like pandora/iheartradio, here, you type in an artist/song, and you get a list of suggested artists! you can choose whether you don't want an artist to play, or whether you want a lot of that artist to play. i really like this, cause you can be so specific with what music you want!

GAMES;
♥ tiny tower - you build your own little building/tower, where you can build stores, apartments, & more for your "bitizens", the 8bit citizens who live there. (: i knowwww, it sounds kinda lame, and at first i didn't really like it or get it, but now i'm HOOKED.

fruit ninja LiTE - you slice fruit with your finger & avoid bombs :p it's pretty cool. the full version is $0.99.

♥ unblock me - in this one, other blocks block the path of a red block, which you have to try & get out of the "box" they're in. it's fun, haha (:

tap tap revenge 4 - you basically tap along to the beat of lots of different songs :p

♥ tiny gems - tap clusters of three or more gems to get the most points you can in a minute. i love this one :p

PHOTOGRAPHY;
♥ instagram - you make an account, and you can edit your photos with lots of cool effects, then post them. i'm hooked on this, it's so fun! (:

dermandar - you can take panoramas on this. it's not the simplest thing in the world to use, but it's pretty cool to see them play back!

phototoaster jr. - add effects to your pictures. this has more effects than instagram & you don't have to make an account (:

♥ camwow - this is just like photobooth, w| some hilarious effects :p it has a big rainbow watermark, but i don't mind.

FOOD;
♥ grubhub - this works in about 2O major cities. you type in where you are & what you would like to eat or where you want to go (e.g sushi, french cuisine, ray's pizza) and it'll find restaurants near you! (: it also tells you which ones deliver.

domino's pizza - order domino's from your phone. this is SOOOOO cool. you choose your order, & you can see the name of whoever's making it, and when it's being baked, prepared, delivered, etc. and you can send the person little notes of encouragement :p

starbucks - you can do many things with this - create custom drinks, get rewards points, find stores, look for jobs, look at the menu, scan qr codes…

♥ food network night time - if you're a food network lover like me, you will LOVE this, you can watch all your favorite food network night time shows like iron chef america, good eats, diners drive-ins and dives, etc.

fooducate - scan the barcode of a product and learn a ton of stuff about it, like warnings & nutrition information! this is amazingggg.

tip #9; last minute halloween costumes!

tip #9; last minute halloween costumes!
i know every year i always end up w| a last minute costume on halloween, so here are some ideas for you guyss – so you can make your last minute costumes easy and adorable (:

feel free to make modifications, these are just suggestions. enjoy! ♥

O1; cat – quick & adorable!
outfit;
- black bodycon skirt
- black v-neck shirt
- black fishnet tights (even though these are toned down w| the classier top & skirt, they may be a little too risque, so lacy black tights or no tights are also good options)
- any color ballet flats, ked-style sneakers, or combat boots – you can use whatever footwear you want, but i thought these would look best (:
- and of course, cat ears (: & if you like, a tail. you can buy these at a halloween store or make your own ears w| a headband, felt, & cardboard.
makeup;
- draw whiskers & a cat nose on your face in eyeliner
- gold eyeshadow w| green in the crease
- line your entire eye with black eyeliner to create a cat-like look, but don’t wing it out, that may be too overpowering.
hair;
- leave it straight & out

O2; superhero – pick any (:
outfit;
- black skirt that isn’t tight/black (or corresponding color) leggings
- long sleeved v-neck shirt – draw or iron your superhero’s logo onto this (:
- tall boots
- add any accessories that are appropriate to your superhero (for example, if you’re dressing up as wonder woman, add thick gold cuffs on your wrists & bring a coil of rope.)
makeup;
- false eyelashes w| liquid liner and mascara to blend them into your natural lashes – you can go really dramatic with this costume!
- of course, this makeup all depends on your character. google a picture & try and mimic the makeup! (for example, add red lipstick for wonder woman, or coral lips & dramatic black lined eyes for catwoman.)
hair;
- wavy or straight, however you like (:

O3; ke$ha – this one is super-easy & fun!
outfit;
- short light wash shorts
- ripped black tights
- a gray t-shirt – rip small holes in it & add safety pins for a grungey effect!
- cowboy or combat boots
makeup;
- glitter on your face, of course (;
- smudgey grey eyeliner – or try to do ke$ha’s eye drip makeup! (http://www.brebeauty.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/kesha.jpg)
- nude lip
hair;
- make it verrrry wavy & tousle it up!

that's it for now (: i know it’s only a few, but i need to go get some beauty sleep. let me know what you think, & request tips! xo

tip #8; hot chocolate w| a twist (;

One year ago - 103 views
tip #8; hot chocolate w| a twist (;
hot chocolate // with a twist (: ♥

recipe #1 – winter white chocolate
heat up milk in a saucepan & add honey, cinnamon, and about four pieces of white chocolate. you can add more or less depending on your taste. stir until the chocolate has melted, then pour into a mug. add a cinnamon stick. not only is this drink delicious, the honey can help soothe a sore throat. (:

recipe #2 – peppermint hot chocolate
first, take a peppermint candy cane or a few peppermints and put them in a plastic bag. then, crush the mints by smashing the bag with a meat tenderizer or with another hard object. then, make hot chocolate like you normally would, with milk or water, whichever you prefer. add three drops of peppermint oil and stir. top off w| whipped cream, marshmallows, and the crushed peppermint. enjoy ♥

recipe #3 – vanilla hot chocolate
make your hot chocolate like you normally would, but add a shot of those french vanilla coffee flavoring things. you can add any flavor of coffee flavoring you like, of course (:

recipe #4 – salted caramel hot chocolate
just like from starbucks – but it’s super easy, & you don’t have to spend a lot of $$$ on it! (: make your hot chocolate & top it off with a lot of whipped cream. take some caramel syrup (just like what you’d use on an ice cream sundae) and drizzle it over the whipped cream. add a pinch of coarse salt, and a pinch of raw sugar.

done (:

tip #7; eyeliner

tip #7; eyeliner
this one was requested by @paulawirth.

- -

when considering which eyeliners to buy, there are many different decisions to make. i'm going to write a little overview of each different type of eyeliner, pros & cons, & application tips. enjoy (:

pencil; this eyeliner is just your regular stick eyeliner. it comes in twist up versions as well as the usual pencil.
pros; this eyeliner is very easy to use, & also smudgeable as well as versatile.
cons; you absolutely neeeeed a creamy pencil. never ever buy one with a hard consistency. try and test them out if you can. plus, eyeliner may smudge a lot during the day. try and buy a waterproof one.
save or splurge; save. as long as it's got a creamy consistency, doesn't irritate your eyes, & works for you the price doesn't matter. feel free to splurge on one from sephora or m.a.c, though.
application tips; this eyeliner works on your lower lashline, upper lashline, waterlines, everywhere. to apply to the top, close your eye. with your non-dominant hand, tug at the edge of your eye and stroke the pencil along it. for your bottom lashline, look up and apply. if you need to pull at your skin a little to keep it taut, do that. and for your waterline, pull your eye so it looks droopy and apply to the waterline in short strokes. i wouldn't recommend tightlining for beginners.
recommendations; sephora, covergirl & l'oreal eyeliners. don't buy the 99 cent wet'n'wild or n.y.c eyeliners.

liquid eyeliner; this one is a liquid form of eyeliner that is almost like a paint.
pros; this has some serious staying power & is great for drawing wings!
cons; it may flake or crack, and is hard to use at first - you really need to work at it.
save or splurge; if you're just starting out w| liquid eyeliner, buy a cheap one, just to test it out, from e.l.f or wet'n'wild. after you get good at using them, move up to a more expensive drugstore brand, or a non-drugstore one. there's really no need to spend $30 on one, though.
application tips; DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT EVER USE LIQUID EYELINER ON YOUR BOTTOM LASHLINE, WATERLINE, OR TO TIGHTLINE. it's not a fun experience at all. the eyeliner will get in your eye, and dry there. you will have to dig it out if it doesn't come out by itself. please use this on your top lashline only. again, close your eye & pull it taut. use short strokes or start out by drawing dots along the length of where the line will be. then connect them. keep your eye closed for a few seconds until it is dry.
recommendations; eye tech eyeliner by milani. it's usually sold out cause it's so popular, but try to find it at target or a drugstore.

"marker" eyeliner; this is like liquid eyeliner in felt-tip pen form.
pros; works just as well as liquid eyeliner.
cons; it's hard to find a good one, and you need to find one with a tip that is not too soft.
save or splurge; splurge. the ones you find at the drugstore aren’t too great…hit sephora to find one.
application tips; apply the same way as liquid eyeliner. never use this anywhere but your top lashline either, and try to find one with a tip that isn’t soft or floppy. it will totally mess up your lines.
recommendations; stila’s eyeliner pen, nyx super fat & super skinny markers

gel eyeliner; this is the baby of pencil and liquid eyeliner. it’s a creamy gel formula that comes in a pot and has to be applied with a brush.
pros; it’s great for drawing wings, looks amazing, is the tool of pro makeup artists, & is extremely long-lasting.
cons; this is even more difficult to figure out how to use than liquid liner is.
save or splurge; buy a cheap gel eyeliner at first, while you’re figuring out how to use it. it does take practice, so buy one from e.l.f (i'd recommend this!) or from wet’n’wild.
application tips; well, this really depends on you, and how you apply it. take your brush and dab it into the eyeliner, then apply like you would a pencil, in longish strokes. open your eye to do a wing and to finish it off. buy a good brush if the one that comes with it is crap- it makes a difference!
recommendations; maybelline’s gel eyeliner. buy it. it’s amazing. a good, more expensive one is bobbi brown’s.

#6; fashion&beauty tips/secrets.
got this idea from a tip by the wonderfulll @thepolyvoretipgirls these tips & tricks are not mine, t5hey're from a very old (october 2O1O) issue of seventeen magazine;

01; to create slim curves, try a floaty dress w| a cropped jacket. to look longer & leaner, a colorblock dress elongates your legs. to create an hourglass figure, try a v-neck dress with a tie waist to cinch your waist & accentuate your hips. and to streamline full hips, try a shirt with strong or ruffly shoulders, and a tulip skirt.

02; to make cheekbones pop, try a mini pouf. protect your hair w| a leave-in conditioner and then curl it in two inch sections. tease the front, then brush it back and fasten it with bobby pins.

03; to make your eyes stand out, dust champagne eyeshadow all over your lids. apply a nutty brown shadow in your crease and create a v-shape that frames your outer corners. then line your eyes, including inner corners, with dark brown eyeliner.

04; looking for a product to stop those pesky bags under your eyes? look for an eye cream w| cucumber, caffeine & melon to depuff eyes.

sorry this was so short! requests always open. ♥
